Another Website revision

Interesting thought - do I need to credit Big Huge Labs for the use of the image on my website? I'll have to look into that.

Come here little guy! That's what the Coventry defense seemed to say to RHAM all day last Saturday. In all fairness, RHAM was without several of their starters. Just nagging injuries, they'll be ready to play on Saturday!

Finn in the water

Love this image - he's so happy when he's in the water. He pulls me all the way to the open spot in the grass where he can get to the river. He wants me to throw the ball but he won't give it to me! What goes through that dog's mind - I have no idea. So there I am throwing the ball with one hand and holding a 300mm lens and DSLR with a six foot monopod in the other. Quite a site I'm sure.

Get that Shot!

Every photographers wants to add "glass" to their tool chest. Let's face it, we are professional photographers because we get "the" picture. Other people want to get the great shot, we go and do whats' necessary to get the shot. They go to a child's sporting event with the intend of capturing images of the their child making the great play. But they lack the tools and the time and the energy to get in position at the right time with the right light and the right tools and the knowledge to use all of these things to get the "shot".

So, back to the glass. Soon a brand new Nikon 300mm f/4 lens will be attached to my D200 and I'll be looking for anyone doing anything athletic to hone my action shooting skills. Football season is fast approaching and I'll be ready to capture my son's Junior year of high school football action. In the process I'll be capturing the rest of his team and the opposing team and my card brochure combination will be making the rounds of high school football fields across Connecticut.

Do you want the shot? Then get the right tools and the right attitude - you will get that shot!

Happy shooting!

My Website

My Website, originally uploaded by by SM Photo.

I've been working on the site now for a few days. The only thing left to do is complete the services page. I added a screen shot (seen here) to Flickr to see if anyone had any comments about the simple site design.

Hope all is well were you are -

Steve

JAF - Just Another Flutterby

JAF - Just Another Flutterby, originally uploaded by by SM Photo.

A shot from yesterday in Meriden, CT. The crop might get changed here but I like all the green in this original.

After spending several hours photographing dragon flies and butterflies yesterday afternoon I met some folks finishing up their walk. They were the proud owners of a Golden Retriever. Zeke was rescued from the local pound and he looked like he was enjoying himself immensely.

This image was taken with the color tempature or white balance set at 2700k. That's the reason for the cool blue tone. This could have been corrected using the raw file but I liked the contract between Zeke's coat and the dark blues and greens of the surrounding woods.

Hi and welcome to the new and improved Steve McLaughlin Photography blog.

Last weekend we visited the "new addition" to the McLaughlin family and took a few shots for the owner. The pug will be shown, big things are expected from her. Since last weekend another new addition has been added to the heard. Time to get back over for another shoot!
